The term Forest Bathing (Shinrin-Yoku) was introduced in Japan in the 80s as a way to describe a connection with nature that involved being in a natural state whilst in nature, as opposed to hiking or sightseeing, which are goal-oriented activities. The studies started in Japan on the physical, mental, and emotional effects of Forest Therapy are guiding the implementation of Forest Bathing around the World.
